Second Round Pick to Join Boise Hawks
The Boise Hawks, in conjunction with the Chicago Cubs, have announced that 2014 second-round draft pick, Jake Stinnett, will join the team prior to the series finale in Hillsboro.
The right-hander, who was a teammate of current Hawks’ outfielder, Charlie White, at the University of Maryland, has made three appearances at rookie-level Mesa after a near two-month layoff.
Stinnett was 7-6 with a 2.65 ERA in 15 starts with the Terrapins this spring, leading Maryland to the NCAA Super Regionals – where he defeated Virginia in Game 1. He struck out 130 men in 112 innings of work, walking just 27, with opponents’ hitting just .192.
