Roster Move – Baez part of Cubs OF Shuffle
The Chicago Cubs had a roster shuffle of their outfielders following Tuesday’s games throughout the organization – including the Hawks top run producer, Jeffrey Baez.
Baez was hitting .267 with a team-high seven homers, team-high 30 RBI, and team-high 15 stolen bases – earning him a promotion to Class-A Kane County, where he will join the Cougars in time for their game this evening against South Bend.
The native of El Tigre, Venezuela, will replace another former Hawk, Jacob Hannemann, who was called up to Class-A Daytona. Hannemann, the Cubs’ third-round pick in 2013, will replace Albert Almora (’12 Hawk) in Daytona – as Almora earned the call to Double-A Tennessee (replacing Jorge Soler, who joined the Iowa Cubs).
