Bryant Named Player of the Week
Boise Hawks third-baseman Kris Bryant was honored today as Northwest League Player of the Week, announced by MILB.com.
The second-overall pick in the 2013 first-year players draft helped the Hawks take 4-of-5 games against the defending NWL champion Vancouver Canadians – extending his hit streak to 15 games, the longest in the league this season.
Bryant went 9-for-17 with three doubles, a triple, a home run, and five RBI – while drawing four walks. He has raised his average to .354 – with 13 of his 23 hits this season going for extra bases and has a 1.108 OPS. Yesterday, Bryant went 5-for-7 in Boise’s day-night doubleheader and drove in three runs.
The Hawks return to action tomorrow night, opening a three-game series with the Eugene Emeralds at 7:15 p.m.
